Urban Arbor is a team of consulting arborists able to assist clients with all aspects of tree management and advisory services. With experience in both private and government sectors from small projects to large scale infrastructure works we have the necessary experience and skills.

We understand that trees can pose safety concerns and for this reason one of our key areas is to work closely with large landholders to appropriately manage the risk associated with the trees on their site. Using the latest industry recognised risk assessment tools combined with a state of the art online platform we believe to have the best tree management program available.

Legislative requirements often call for trees to be protected and retained on development sites. Our early involvement in development projects will significantly reduce the likelihood of project delays related to trees.

We ensure we are by your side to assist you all the way. Whether it is a report for safety, and impact assessment for development or completed Tree Management Program you can rest assured that our team is here to assist you.

Our Team

Alex Kurath

Managing Director/Consulting Arborist

Since starting in the industry in 1994 he built and ran a successful tree service business for 23 years. During this time he regularly attend seminars and courses to further his knowledge and attained his Diploma in Arboriculture at TAFE.

In 2015 he established Urban Arbor which was to be dedicated arboricultural consulting firm. He has been able to put together a team of consultants that are all passionate about the field they work in and bring with them a wealth of knowledge and experience.

Tree risk management is an area where he would like to see a shift. With better education and proper planning this can be achieved successfully without the unnecessary loss of trees and fear of harm to people or property.

Jack Williams

Senior Consulting Arborist

Jack started in the tree industry in 2003 completing his training in the UK. Working in the practical field in the initial stages he soon moved into the area of consultancy. Working in Local Government whilst furthering his education in the field of consultancy he obtained his Degree. His quest for further industry knowledge led him to embark on travel overseas ending in Australia. Since arriving here in 2011 he has completed his Diploma, TRAQ and QTRA training. The experience he brings with his background in Local Government and Private sector work including development makes him a valuable member to our team and our clients.

Bryce Claassens

Consulting Arborist

Bryce has worked in the Horticultural industry since 2008. Bryce started work in landscape construction and has an extensive working knowledge of trees and development. His passion of trees lead him to pursue a career in Arboriculture. Bryce has completed his Diploma of Arboriculture and is a QTRA registered user. Bryce’s experience in Arboricultural Reports, GIS Mapping Software, Tree Surveys, Root Investigations and his interest and motivation within the Arboricultural industry makes him a valuable asset to our team.
